National Apprenticeship Week

Mercuri International are taking part in National Apprenticeship Week by celebrating a number of our past and present apprentices for our ‘5 Days of Excellence’. We are celebrating all of the hard work our learners have put into their apprenticeship and all of their success so far.

National Apprenticeship Week 2023 is the 16th annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships.

The week brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy.

Vicky Mastoridou Development Manager at VP Plc  is currently undertaking the Level 3 Team Leader Apprenticeship. Vicky spoke to us about her apprenticeship so far and the support she has received.

“The course has helped me build up my confidence as a manager.”

Vicky Mastoridou – VP Plc

Vicky is a delightful, eager, and happy individual, she is of Greek descent and speaks several languages, she has embraced her apprenticeship and fundamentally flown through her FS Maths. Vicky was very honest and highlighted that she opted to do a L3 qualification despite having a degree in Engineering owing to she felt that learning another language was new to her therefore she didn’t want to set herself a too higher goal. She has a few personal situations she is having to deal with, but despite it all, she is still committed, and will do her best to submit her work and achieve,  I feel Vicky is a real inspiration to those choosing to do an apprenticeship.

Sarah-Louise Bell, Learning and Development Coach, Mercuri International

“As with many Engineers, Vicky has progressed into a management role without any formal training. Whilst Vicky is currently doing a great job of managing the team, the Management and Leadership Apprenticeship syllabus is ideal way to enhance Vicky’s skills and explore new ways of managing and developing a successful high performing team.”

Paul Garton, Engineering Director, VP Plc

Skills For Life

The theme for National Apprenticeship Week 2023 is “Skills for Life”; reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career, and businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with future-ready skills.
